On January 31, 2024, the Firm celebrated its 50th Anniversary with more than 400  guests coming from its vast roster of clients and  friends. The event, held at The Fifth at Rockwell Makati, was a fitting tribute to the firm’s founders, Former Justice Camilo Quiason and Atty. Eduardo Makalintal, whose pioneering spirit in 1974 created the law partnership. In honor of its founders, the firm announced that it will now be rebranded and bear the name “The Law Firm of Quiason Makalintal.” Quiason Makalintal now counts itself among the few law firms in the Philippines to have reached the 50-year mark.

 

In his welcome message, Senior Partner Eric Quiason recalled the firm's humble beginnings at the Benpres Building (then called the Chronicle Building). He thanked the firm’s dedicated staff, both past and present, for their vital role in shaping the firm into what it is today. He also thanked the firm’s numerous clients for their unwavering trust and confidence in the firm.

 

The program was capped with a video presentation about the history of the firm, the biographies of the founders, the rise of the firm to its present roster, and the launch of the firm's new name. Senior Partner Benedict Tugonon gave a toast to express the firm's gratitude and appreciation to the clients for their presence and asked everyone to look forward to many more years of good working relationship and continued partnership.
