Joel L. Espinueva

 

Joel L. Espinueva is the Head of the Intellectual Property Group and is also a supervising attorney in the Litigation Group. Mr. Espinueva's practice emphasizes all aspects of intellectual property matters, and related product liability standard issues. He has prepared and prosecuted hundreds of trademark and copyright applications for a wide range of goods and services, including media and entertainment; and convention and PCT patent applications in various fields of technology. He has also advised on several intellectual property and product liability standard issues, and prepared and negotiated several copyright, trademark, patent, and licensing and related acquisition agreements.

 

His trial and appellate experience includes preparing and arguing all petitions and briefs in unfair competition, infringement, inter partes and cancellation proceedings before the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines, and the Philippine Regional Trial Court and Court of Appeals. He also represents his clients in product liability standard issues before the Department of Trade & Industry of the Philippines.

 

Mr. Espinueva is an active member of the International Trademark Association, and an accredited trademark and patent agent of the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines.

 

He joined the firm in December 1989.
